Chapter 337 Cahpter 337: The Cautious Enemy
"As you wish!" The small guy started to panic, not getting any reply, but when Noah was right in front of him, he froze hearing the cold yet indifferent voice coming from right behind his back followed by another voice.
*Splash!*
A few moments earlier, Your next journey awaits at empire
Seeing his short partner trying to counter the powerful blade coming in their direction with his most powerful attack, the other guy shook his head, "What a waste of energy. These kinds of people overcomplicate a simple mission."
"He could have just dodged the attack and would not have to waste so much energy just to satisfy his ego." His voice was filled with criticism as he judged the battle from a distance. "But I have to say, this guy is really difficult to deal with. Even after all of that, he is still standing there without any signs of exhaustion on his face."
Ever since the start of the battle, he had been analyzing the battle from a distance and trying to come up with the best way to deal with Noah. Seeing how he had been able to parry with one Soul Formation level cultivator easily made him cautious towards him.
"There is something odd about him; he must have some kind of sacred bloodline, but I haven't sensed the power of the blood until now. It's just his body parts that look different. Does he have some kind of serpent bloodline or some other divine beast?"
His analysis continued as he muttered to himself while watching the tornado slowly take over the blade, but before he could think of his next moves through the battle, he saw something that caused him to pause.
High in the sky, he saw their target raising his hands as they glowed with a purple light, and thousands of swords appeared out of nowhere.
These swords rushed towards the area right above the hand of the boy and merged, making a huge sword that could slice through a quarter of the mountain in one swing.
Just this fact alone was enough to describe the enormous size of the sword. Before he could even get over the fact that a Golden Core cultivator was able to use sword intent to such a level, he saw the sword charging at his teammate. It was not just the sword; even the guy was also rushed forward along with the sword.
A huge explosion sounded, followed by a mushroom cloud that rose in the air. From the cloud of smoke, something came crashing down towards the ground. It was none other than Noah, whose one wing was torn in half along with the heavily mutilated arm of the same side.
*Drip!*
The small guy saw the scene in satisfaction before he looked down, feeling a weird chill in his stomach area, and saw a huge hole in the middle of his stomach. He moved his hand through it and raised his hands to his face level only to see his own blood covering it.
*Cough!*
Blood rushed through his mouth as he coughed up a mouthful before looking at Noah, thinking, 'Ah~ it's my turn to be used for the great lord~ I finally had the honor. That bastard also got what he deserved.'
His body lost strength, and he started to fall towards the ground, falling at tremendous speed.
*BANG!*x2
Both of them collided with the ground, causing the smoke to rise. Seeing the whole scene from afar, the remaining masked man looked at it without much movement, and only after the two of them struck the ground did he move toward Noah cautiously.
"Mission complete, subject captured!" Standing in front of him, he looked down at Noah and uttered coldly without any hint of emotion in his voice.
"Oh, so soon?" As he was about to reach out to pick Noah with his hands, he saw the man opening his eyes and looking at him with a playful smile. He wanted to move back, but realizing something, his body froze....
The voice did not come from the person in front of him but it came from behind him. While he registered that thought in his mind, he felt like he was weirdly hallucinating the past with what happened next.
