Chapter 5: Questioning, the Lionheart Knight's Law, Shocks Everyone
Chapter 5: Questioning, the Lionheart Knight's Law, Shocks Everyone
7 PM.
A knock came at the door.
The door opened, and Logan was outside.
Soon, Ian followed him to a stone house.
Push open the door.
Inside, four men and two women were already seated, looking towards the two of them.
"This is Ian, as you all probably know today. He's also one of those who have successfully condensed runes. I invited him to join our mutual aid society. I don't think anyone has any objections," Logan introduced.
Normally, no one would have any objections.
A slightly overweight boy with a pockmarked face stepped forward:
"I have a problem with that."
"Harman, what do you mean?"
Logan frowned and looked over.
Ian looked over as well.
He remembered this person; he seemed to be one of the successful ones this time.
Harman glanced at Ian, his chest puffed out.
"I have seen him. He was a serf before. As a nobleman, I refuse to sit with him."
"Harman, this is no longer a kingdom." Logan said, speechless.
Others were also starting to lose their composure.
Harman was the oldest among them, at fourteen years old.
My father is a duke of the kingdom; he was already a viscount before I came here.
Ian didn't feel insulted.
After all, they were just a bunch of kids, and this arrogant Harman looked more like a stupid husky.
It all depends on how Logan handles it.
"Harman, if you can't accept this, then please leave."
Logan looked at him calmly.
He would naturally choose Ian over a fool, even though Harman's possessions were of higher value.
"Logan!"
Harman stared wide-eyed, somewhat incredulous.
Ian, standing to the side, was also somewhat surprised.
Such decisiveness.
Harman didn't seem to want to leave; after all, he still needed to exchange experiences.
Then he looked at Ian and said:
"Ian, let's have a contest, nothing more, just a comparison of our proficiency in meditation. If you win, I'll allow you to join; if you lose, you leave."
"Ian, I'm so sorry, you don't need to compete."
Logan immediately turned his head.
This is pure insult.
He invited these people, so he certainly wouldn't allow such a thing to happen.
Ian, however, seemed to have a shifty expression.
Before joining the mutual aid society, he had thought about what he could exchange.
After much thought, it seems that the only thing I can exchange is experience with meditation.
After all, there's a proficiency panel.
He can meditate almost flawlessly, and if a problem arises, he can quickly correct it.
This is something that others cannot match.
In terms of proficiency, even those three people with third-class talent might not be able to compare to him.
He even considered paying for trial and error, only needing to see if his proficiency level increased.
This is a good opportunity.
"Okay, but if I lose, I have to leave, while you lose without any consequences. Isn't that a bit unfair?"
Ian countered with a question.
Harman was overjoyed and actually accepted the offer.
So he said, "If I fail, I will also leave the mutual aid society."
"not enough."
"Including my family's Lionheart Knight Law."
Harman was confident because he didn't think he would lose.
Knight's Law?
Ian's eyes gleamed; he knew this was a cultivation method only practiced in mortal kingdoms.
But it was something only nobles could possess.
It can enhance the body, so it should be considered extraordinary knowledge, and it should be able to improve one's talents.
"Can."
Ian nodded in agreement.
At this point, Logan naturally couldn't say anything, he could only sigh.
Soon, a small open space was cleared out.
The comparison is quite simple: it's about who feels the spiritual energy first and who meditates for the longest time.
The two sat on the ground and began to meditate, with two hourglasses on either side of them.
The six people around them also looked at the two.
"Ian was too impulsive!" A red-haired girl shook her head.
"really."
A burly young man standing nearby nodded in agreement.
Although they didn't particularly like Harman, they had to admit that Harman was talented in meditation.
Perhaps it's related to family tradition; after all, even the Grand Duke of the kingdom can obtain some extraordinary resources here and there.
Logan, meanwhile, was pondering how to invalidate the match and drive Harman out.
time flies.
"Wait, something's not right."
A gasp rang out; it was a girl in a white dress pointing at Ian.
Everyone looked over.
In the center of the arena, Ian stood with his eyes closed, emanating a faint aura.
Everyone is familiar with them.
This means that Ian has sensed mental power.
Harman, standing to the side, had not yet succeeded.
"How is that possible?"
Harman was also affected by the sound and opened his eyes to look at Ian.
However, he immediately closed his eyes and continued meditating.
He cannot lose.
The hourglass next to Ian was turned over, and the timer started.
Soon, Harman also got into the zone and began meditating.
Next, it's time for meditation.
This is purely a matter of skill level.
This is also the part of Harman that he is most confident about.
But when he opened his eyes again, he didn't hear a sound.
"What happened?"
He looked puzzled, then noticed that everyone else was staring intently at Ian.
"The third hourglass is here."
He faintly heard exclamations.
Three hourglasses?
How could that be? He usually only uses two hourglasses.
This was the longest time among those present.
Harman stared wide-eyed down at his hourglass, which had just finished two hourglasses.
Meanwhile, Ian remained in meditation, and finally opened his eyes as the third hourglass ran out completely.
"The time of three hourglasses."
Logan took a deep breath.
No wonder Ian wasn't as talented as him, but he didn't take too long to successfully condense the runes.
His mastery of meditation techniques is just too high.
Everyone studied for only one month, yet the difference is so huge.
I knew I hadn't invited the wrong person.
"Harman, you lost." Logan turned to look at Harman.
The intense gazes of the crowd were fixed on him, and the arrogant Harman felt as if he were suffocating.
"This is chivalry."
He pulled a booklet from his pocket and tossed it aside, then strode out of the stone house as if he needed to take a breath of fresh air immediately.
Picking up the knight's talisman from the ground, Ian stood up.
"Ian, you're amazing! I'm Emily Garrett," the red-haired girl said.
"William, you absolutely must share your meditation experience with me!" the burly young man introduced himself.
"Shirley." This is another girl in a white dress.
She is young, but very well-developed, with her chest already showing signs of development.
"Alfie." "Luke."
"Logan, Ian, welcome to the team. We hope you can share your meditation experience with us. Of course, if you need magic tricks, we can share them with you too. I think everyone would be happy to."
Logan, as the organizer, gave a warm welcome.
"I have a few zero-ring tricks here."
"If you need to learn chivalry, I can impart my experience."
Everyone was very enthusiastic.
These things are nothing compared to the fact that meditation can last much longer!
"I'd be happy to help."
In the crowd, Ian looked at everyone and smiled.
