Unrivaled Soldier in the City

Chapter 583: Perception Discovery

Chapter 583: Perception Discovery

Lin Kuang possessed the Yin Yang Physique, which allowed him to blend into nature. This made his Perception incredibly powerful—a fact unknown to his opponents, including Hidden. As Lin Kuang sprinted, he pushed his Perception to its limit and clearly sensed an ambush ahead. It included two exceptionally strong masters who were just as strong as Hidden, if not slightly stronger. Tsk tsk, interesting. They’ve actually set up an ambush here. Very well, I’ll see what tricks they have up their sleeves. Lin Kuang sneered inwardly but remained outwardly composed, continuing to run alongside Hidden.

The moment they traversed the woods, they arrived at a desolate ruin. It appeared to be the site of a recently demolished factory, with bricks and chunks of cement littering the ground. Noting Hidden’s grim expression, Lin Kuang asked calmly, "Is this the place?"

"Yes, this is it," Hidden stated, his tone cold as his chilling gaze fixed on Lin Kuang. "This is the burial site I’ve chosen for you!"

Lin Kuang smiled, his gaze steady on Hidden. "A burial site for me? I doubt that. It’s not yet clear whose grave this will be."

"King of the Underworld, enough talk! Let me see how strong you really are!" With that, Hidden suddenly charged, striking with his palm toward Lin Kuang’s head. The man attacked without warning, giving Lin Kuang no chance to speak.

Tsk tsk, he’s really asking for death! Lin Kuang’s expression instantly darkened as murderous intent surged in his eyes.

Hidden was already upon him, his palm just a foot from Lin Kuang’s head. But in that instant, Lin Kuang moved. All at once, the Open Door, Rest Gate, Life Gate, Injury Gate, and The Du Gate—the Five Gates—flared open inside his body, and a terrifying power burst forth. Simultaneously, Lin Kuang threw a punch, his powerful fist smashing toward Hidden’s palm.

BOOM!

Fist met palm in a vicious collision. A terrifying power erupted from Lin Kuang, the sheer force sending the bricks and tiles beneath their feet scattering violently in a frightening display. Under Lin Kuang’s immense power, Hidden was clearly no match. His body was blasted back more than three meters before he stopped. Lin Kuang, in contrast, stood calmly in place, looking as if nothing had happened.

Shaking his head, Lin Kuang laughed. "Hidden, is this the full extent of your strength? A bit disappointing."

Hearing this, Hidden’s flushed face turned livid. Lin Kuang’s words clearly showed he had no regard for him, which infuriated the assassin.

"King of the Underworld, don’t be arrogant!" Hidden said, his expression ugly. "This isn’t my real strength. My true power lies in assassination!" The next moment, he pushed off with his legs, a terrifying power surging forth as he charged at Lin Kuang once more.

Lin Kuang watched him calmly, not rushing to attack. He wanted to see what tricks Hidden could pull. Just as Hidden got within a meter of him, his figure suddenly vanished. He simply disappeared into thin air; even Lin Kuang didn’t see how. What’s going on? Lin Kuang squinted, his gaze filled with puzzlement. At that moment, a sense of crisis struck him, and he instinctively retreated without a second thought. Just as he moved, Hidden appeared exactly where he had just stood. If Lin Kuang hadn’t moved, the attack would have surely injured him.

"Is this your strength? Your ability?" Lin Kuang asked with some curiosity, looking at the man before him.

"Yes," Hidden replied calmly, looking back at Lin Kuang. His quiet tone carried a powerful confidence, as if he could kill Lin Kuang with ease. "This is my strength. This is my ability. This is the origin of my name, Hidden!"

"A remarkable ability, perfectly suited for assassination," Lin Kuang said with a slight smile, his tone casual, as if discussing something trivial. "But it has no effect on me."

Hearing Lin Kuang’s words, Hidden’s expression turned ugly. "King of the Underworld, don’t be too arrogant!"

"Arrogant?" Lin Kuang said calmly, standing his ground. "Why don’t you try me and find out?"

"Very well, then I’ll butcher you!" Hidden roared, pulling a dagger from behind his back. The weapon gleamed coldly in the moonlight, its chilling edge proving it was no ordinary blade.

"Come on," Lin Kuang said with a laugh, his calm, slightly disdainful tone utterly infuriating Hidden. "I’m in a hurry. I can’t waste all my time on you."

"Good! Very good! Then die!" Hidden roared, charging forward. Yet, when he was less than a meter from Lin Kuang, his figure once again vanished into thin air.

This time, Lin Kuang was prepared. He simply watched calmly, his Perception pushed to its maximum as he carefully sensed Hidden’s position. In that same instant, Lin Kuang spun around and threw a ferocious punch. A violent force erupted, yet, bizarrely, there was no one in front of him.

BANG!

The sound of the impact, however, was real. A figure appeared out of nowhere with a trace of blood at the corner of his mouth. It was none other than Hidden. His face was a terrible sight, his eyes filled with intense, resentful disbelief. "You... how did you find me!" he demanded, his voice laced with shock.

"How did I find you? Simple: Perception," Lin Kuang stated calmly. "Powerful Martial Artists rely not on their sight, but on their Perception. Of course, you wouldn’t understand that yet. You haven’t reached that Realm." This wasn’t conceit on Lin Kuang’s part; it was merely a fact.

Hearing this, Hidden’s eyes filled with disbelief. What bullshit about Perception! He refused to believe it. "It was just a coincidence!" he snarled, and his figure vanished once again.

Seeing this, Lin Kuang sighed helplessly. "Since you’re so determined to die, I might as well oblige you." He closed his eyes, his powerful Perception spreading out to sense everything around him. As Hidden’s dagger stabbed toward his head, Lin Kuang sneered inwardly. So you couldn’t hold back anymore, could you?
