After silently standing there for a bit longer for Huang Xie to say his final words in his mind, the two of them went back into the building.

Now that he knew what this place was, Lin Fan didn't actually know what to do in this place.

This was clearly an important place for Huang Xie, so there was no doubt that he would want to preserve this place.

But to Lin Fan's surprise, Huang Xie actually started packing the things in this place up.

He didn't pack up everything, he just went around picking out certain things to take with him. It seemed that he was planning on taking a few of the things that he considered important from his childhood back with him to the Love Sect.

Lin Fan just silently waited for Huang Xie to finish packing up the things that he wanted to take.

It didn't actually take that long for Huang Xie to finish packing his things up.

With how few things he took with him, it was almost as if he didn't really seem to care about the things that were in this place.

But Lin Fan just assumed that it was because he didn't want to take all of these things back with him.

The place that these things belonged to was this house, so it wasn't as if he would want to take everything with him. If he ever wanted, he could always have this house to come back to as a childhood home

Or that was what Lin Fan assumed that Huang Xie was doing...

It didn't seem like Huang Xie had any attachment at all as he suddenly asked, "Master, do you have a match?"

Lin Fan was caught off guard by this question before slowly asking in a confused voice, "What do you need a match for?"

Huang Xie just calmly said, "To set this place on fire. I'm going to burn it down now."

Lin Fan was even more shocked when he heard this.

He didn't say anything as he looked at Huang Xie with a strange look, but it didn't seem like Huang Xie had any hesitation in his eyes over what he just said. The way that he looked back at Lin Fan was as if he had already come to a decision and he wouldn't back down on it now.

But it didn't make sense to Lin Fan why he would do something like this.

This was a place that was filled with his memories of his past and his memories of his mother, so why would he want to burn this place down?

Lin Fan just couldn't understand what Huang Xie was thinking, but Huang Xie was already going to look for something that could burn this place down when he saw that Lin Fan wasn't saying anything.

When Lin Fan finally came back from his daze, he decided to just ask, "Wait, why do you want to burn this place down? Do you have some kind of grudge against your mother?"

Huang Xie shook his head as he turned around before saying, "This place is no longer my home, so there's no need to cling to it anymore. Not to mention that even if this place was a home for me and my mother, it was also the place where the darkest parts of my life were. I don't want this place to exist in this world anymore."

Lin Fan was surprised to hear what Huang Xie said, but he couldn't deny that what he said made sense.

So eventually he raised his hand and gathered some flames in his palm.

It should be the final artifact from the Hei Family that he was descended from.

It seemed that Hei Gui was right about his mother being the final descendant of the Hei Family.

Huang Xie had an emotional look on his face as he looked at the contents of the box in front of him.

Lin Fan walked over all of a sudden and reached out before saying, "Can I take a look at this?"

Huang Xie was pulled out of his thoughts to see that Lin Fan was reaching for the black token. But after coming back to his senses, Huang Xie just gave a simple nod in response to Lin Fan's question.

He wasn't worried that his master would take this token from him.

But even if his master did want it, it wasn't as if he would stop him.

Lin Fan had given him many things, so it was the least that he could do.

While Lin Fan took the token and started looking at it while holding it up to his eye, Huang Xie reached into the box to take out the pieces of paper.

When he unfolded them, he found that they were letters.

These weren't letters from his mother addressed to him, but rather they were letters addressed to his mother without a single return address. It was as if whoever sent the letter only wanted his mother to read it and no one else.

When he read through these letters, he quickly realized what they were.

They were letters from his mother's parents, his grandparents to his mother.

His mother had never mentioned her parents, so Huang Xie had assumed that something had happened to them or that they were dead. That was why he didn't think that there was anyone else that he was related to left in this world.

But based on these letters, it seemed that there was more than met the eye...

After looking at the letters for a bit, he found that there was one piece of paper that was different from the rest.
