Chapter 980 Reflections in the mirror

Everyone had a confused look when they heard this before slowly looking at the mirror that had appeared.

They all looked at the mirror as if they were trying to find what was special about this mirror, but it didn't seem like any of them were able to find anything special about the mirror.

It was as if no matter how they looked at it, it was just a normal mirror.

It wasn't just the disciples that weren't able to find anything special about this mirror, even the representatives from the various sects weren't able to find anything special about this mirror.

They considered themselves experts to a certain extent, so they thought that they would be able to find something.

However, it didn't seem like there was even a trace of spiritual energy coming from this mirror.

It was as if it was nothing more than a normal mirror.

So why was the second trial looking into the mirror?

Seeing that no one was willing to step forward, Lin Fan gave a nod to one of the disciples on the side who came forward with a long list.

After this disciple came forward, Lin Fan said, "We will now call your names. The one that is called will need to step forward and stand in front of the mirror."

All of the talented youths were surprised by this before focusing their minds.

Even though they had no idea what this mirror was, they still didn't dare let their guard down since this was their second trial. All of them wanted to do the best that they could to enter the Love Sect, so they wouldn't let their guards down now that they were almost in the Love Sect.

The first name that was called was a chubby looking young man who nervously walked over to the mirror.

As he stood there in front of it, he couldn't help asking, "How long do I have to keep looking at this?"

Though he had steeled his heart, it wasn't as if he would be able to calm himself down completely.

At the same time, he still had his doubts since he had no idea what this mirror was. So it wasn't as if he would know when he would be done looking into the mirror.

Lin Fan had already expected this, so he said, "Just keep looking until there's a reaction from it and as for what kind of reaction, you'll know when you see it. I can't describe it to you or it wouldn't be a proper test."

The chubby young man was a bit confused about this, but he eventually nodded in response.

After all, the one that said this was the sect master of the Love Sect, so it wasn't as if he could talk back to him.

He just had to follow his instructions and look into this mirror.

The chubby young man stepped forward so that he was right in front of the mirror and just calmly looked into it, waiting for something to happen. It didn't seem like anything was about to happen with how the mirror just reflected everything in front of it normally.

Then all of a sudden, the chubby young man seemed to fall into a daze as he stared at the mirror.

It was as if there was something that suddenly pulled his soul out of him with the way that his eyes glazed over.

They watched this young man for a bit, but it didn't seem like he was going to come back from whatever he was seeing in the mirror. It even seemed like he was losing himself more and more into this thing.

Finally, Lin Fan raised his hand and gave a snap.

When that happened, the young man slowly came back to his senses and started to look around himself as if he was disappointed. It was as if he was looking for whatever he had seen inside of the mirror.

It was just that there wasn't anything there.

With a disappointed voice he said, "Where is it? Where is my power? Where is my treasure?"

Lin Fan and Senior Brother Ying shook their heads before giving sighs, as if they were disappointed with this young man.

Then Lin Fan said, "You fail."

Everyone was surprised to hear this since he was the first person that had failed in this second trial.

The one that was the most shocked was the young man that actually failed.

After his chin dropped, he said, "WHY?!"

It seemed to contain all of the emotions that he was feeling in this moment with the way that he said it.

He just couldn't believe that he had failed when everyone else had those strange reactions. He felt that his reaction was the only one that should have been correct in this situation.

Lin Fan and Senior Brother Ying slightly knitted their brows when they heard the young man ask this.

It seemed that after everything, they still couldn't understand why they failed.

Naturally they couldn't allow someone like this in the Love Sect.

With a wave of his hand, Lin Fan picked up this young man with his spiritual energy and sent him off the mountain without a single word. During all of this, the young man had an aggrieved look on his face as he was being sent off, but there was nothing that he could do against Lin Fan's spiritual energy.

Once the young man had been sent off, Lin Fan gave a nod to the Love Sect disciple and the next person was called forward.

Everyone was still confused why the young man had failed.

None of them had figured out the true use of the mirror yet.

This mirror had a formation on it that allowed one to see their true heart's desires and what they were being tested on was how they would react to their true heart's desires.

If they lost control of themselves like the young man had done, that meant that their heart was filled with greed and they weren't able to control themselves.

They clearly were not a good fit for the Love Sect, so it was only natural that they would fail this second trial.
